- → Parent Category 30 Years
- → Contributory Parent Category at least 6-12 Years
- → Waiting period may be affected by Capping and Queuing
Medicare
- → Available only if they have been granted their offshore/onshore visa and are in Australia
- → No Medicare if in Australia and apply for the visa onshore until the visa is granted
Health Insurance
- → Must take out Private Health Insurance for the entire time they are in Australia waiting for their parent visa application
- → Currently Authorised Fund is BUPA
Social Security
- → Once person granted Permanent Parent Visa they cannot access Department of Human Services until after 2 years
- → All migrants must wait 10 years after becoming Permanent Resident before they can apply for Aged or Disability Pension
- → Assurance of Support is held for 2 years for Parent Category
- → Assurance of Support is held for 10 years for the Contributory Parent Category

社會保障
- → 一旦獲得永久簽證父母，2年內都不能使用人民服務部
- → 所有移民必須等成為永久居民後10年才可以申請老年或殘疾津貼
- → 父母類別的支持保證是要持有2年
- → 交費父母類別的支持保證是要持有10年
